Though much of her crafty lyrics and poetry merit listening to them on their own, Nettles joins the royal company of a gifted and enthralling backing band. Because of her songwriting magic and her growing fan base as well as the people behind the scenes who devote their time toward aiding in the promotion of the music she has released, Jennifer Nettles received the distinguished honor of being presented the Independent Musician of the Year award for 2001. Jennifer Nettles' band was very successful during the latter part of 1990s. They were able to deliver engaging songs, lively voice, a poetic style and live shows that reflected their passion.
